Strawberry Fluff

There is no dessert easier to make than a fluff salad. I have a plethora of these easy dessert salads on my site, each one more delicoius than the last. The two most popular are my Pina Colada Fluff  and Reese’s Peanut Butter Fluff but you can find all of my fluff recipes here.

I also have shared some more traditional dessert salads in the past like this  Watergate Salad and Ambrosia Salad. While these salads don’t have the word “fluff” in the name, I definitely consider them to be fluff salads all the same.

What Goes In a Strawberry Fluff Salad?

Most fluff salads, including this one, are a combination of pantry ingredients and either Cool Whip or whipped cream. For this Strawberry Fluff, you’ll need these ingredients:

  • Cool Whip, can use lite
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • strawberry pie filling
  • crushed pineapple, well drained
  • mini marshmallows, use the multi-colored ones if possible
  • pecans, optional
  • fresh strawberries

Can I Use Frozen Strawberries

The recipe below calls for fresh strawberries in addition to strawberry pie filling. The strawberry pie filling is a must for the recipe but you can either omit the fresh strawberries or replace with thawed, previously frozen strawberries. They won’t look as bright and you’ll need to blot dry so the extra moisture doesn’t make the salad runny. My suggestion would be to omit from the recipe if you can’t find or don’t have access to fresh strawberries.

What To Serve with Desert Salads

We usually serve a fluff salad as a dessert. It can be made in advance so it’s nice to be able to just pull it out after everyone has eaten and dessert is ready to go. It’s a favorite with mac and cheese or tater tot casserole.

If it’s more of a potluck or party situation, I just set it out with all the rest of the items and it’s eaten right alongside the main meal. It goes great with bbq chicken made with our favorite chicken marinade and a broccoli salad.

Dump & Go

This fluff salad qualifies as a “dump and go” recipe which means that you literally just dump the ingredients in a single bowl and mix together. No mixer or any special equipment needed. So easy!

I’m wondering if you could also put this a ‘gram cracker’ pie crust, then refrigerate?

You can and you should 🤣 I’m not sure how sliceable it will be though in all honesty. Maybe try to make it a bit thicker?
