Easy No Bake Red White and Blue Dessert

Calling all cheesecake lovers and party people! This fun flag cake is perfect for 4th of July and Memorial Day weekend and is SO easy to make! Forget fussy crusts and long baking times, this recipe brings the flavors of cheesecake together without all of the extra work. It’s perfect for summer potlucks, barbecues, or holiday parties!

The beauty of this recipe lies in its simplicity. There’s no preheating the oven in the heat of the summer or trying to figure out water baths—just a quick prep, some mixing, and a bit of chilling. The unique base is made up of King’s Hawaiian rolls, which add texture to the luxuriously creamy cheesecake filling sandwiched in the middle. Whipped cream tops the rolls, followed by fresh berries, which add a burst of sweetness and creates the flag look. This is my new favorite way to make cake! It’s so good!

Why You’ll Love This Pull Apart Flag Cake

I love serving themed recipes for holidays and 4th of July is one of my favorites! We enjoy this dessert all summer but on the 4th of July I go all out and decorate the top as a flag – so fun!

  • Effortless: No-bake cheesecakes are famous for being quick and easy to make, but a pull-apart version using King’s Hawaiian Rolls takes them to another level. Imagine throwing together a delicious dessert in just 10 minutes—perfect for last-minute get-togethers!
  • Easy to enjoy: Instead of serving slices, friends and family can enjoy pulling off gooey, berry-filled pieces—it’s like a cupcake and cheesecake all rolled into one dessert!
  • Perfect for summer: When the weather heats up, firing up the oven is probably the last thing you want to do. A no-bake recipe keeps your kitchen cool, and you can still make a delicious treat!

This dessert has four layers: rolls, cheesecake, whipped cream, and berries. It’s so easy, you’ll be able to whip it up in 15 minutes! Let’s take a quick look at the simple steps for making a no bake pull apart cheesecake!

5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!

As always, you can find the full, printable recipe card with all the information you need to make this recipe at the end of this post.

  1. Cut rolls in half lengthwise. Handle them carefully to keep them intact.
  2. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in vanilla and sugar and continue beating until well combined.
  4. Gently fold in whipped topping or whipped cream.
  5. Spread about two-thirds of the no bake cheesecake mixture on the bottom half of the rolls.
  6. Gently press strawberries into the cheesecake.
  7. Cover the top of the strawberries with the remaining cheesecake filling.
  8. Place the top half of the rolls on top of the cheesecake filling.
  9. Spread whipped cream or whipped topping on top of the rolls. If you want, you can frost the sides of the cake, too.
  10. Top with sliced strawberries and blueberries. It doesn’t have to be a flag.
  11. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

If using whipped cream, prepare no more than 2 hours in advance or the whipped cream might separate.

Storage Information

Store the dessert in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days for the best flavor and texture.

Variations To Try

  • Raspberries can be swapped in for the strawberries but just keep in mind they have more of a pink hue.
  • This dessert could be made into a trifle as well. Just tear up the Hawaiian rolls and layer with no bake cheesecake in berries in a trifle dish.
  • Fresh whipped cream is always a delicious option although frozen whipped topping will save you a bit of time.

Trish’s Tips

  • The cheesecake filling can be made up to one day in advance. Just store in the fridge until you’re ready to assemble the cheesecake. Set out for 15 minutes so it spreads easily before assembling.
  • Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature before making the cheesecake filling. This will help make your filling smooth and lump-free.
  • Have fun with the berries on top if you’re not making for the 4th of July! It doesn’t need to be anything fancy.
