This Bread Machine Pizza Dough recipe is near and dear to my heart because much like slow cooker recipes, it requires very little work 🙂  If you don’t have a bread machine you may want to consider buying one because they are a HUGE time saver and there is no limit to the number of recipes you can make. This recipe makes 1 pizza so I usually double it so we can have leftovers. It also make fabulous bread sticks so there is also that option. We really enjoy this pizza dough recipe and I know you will too!

Ingredients:
2 c flour (I like to use bread flour but all purpose and even a combination of AP and wheat flour works)
1 Tbls butter, softened
1 Tbls sugar
1 tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1/2 c plus 2 Tbls water (105-110 degrees)

Doubled (for 2 pizzas):
4 c flour
2 Tbls butter, softened
2 Tbls sugar
2 tsp yeast
2 tsp salt
1 1/3 c water (105-110 degrees)

5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!

Directions:

Add all ingredients into your bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Make sure that the water is warm enough to proof the yeast (about 105-110 degrees).

Turn your bread machine to the dough setting and let ‘er go! After a couple minutes check on your dough. Make sure that the ingredients are thoroughly combined and that the dough is not too wet or too dry. Depending on where you live and the flour you use there can be some variances in the dough. If it’s too dry, add 1 tsp of water at a time. If the dough is too sticky, add 1 tsp of flour at a time.

The dough will raise nicely during the dough cycle. Isn’t it pretty?  It never ceases to amaze me what a little yeast can do 🙂

After the bread machine is done (mine takes about 90 minutes on the dough cycle) – dump the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and work it until you achieve your desired shape.

Depending on the size of pizza pan or pizza stone you are using, you may not need all of the dough.

I like to lightly grease my pizza pan and dust with cornmeal. Make up your pizza and bake at 400-425 degrees for 18-25 minutes. You are looking for bubbly cheese and lightly browned crust. If you like a crunchier  crust, brush some olive oil on the crust before baking.

New favorite pizza crust! Saving lots of money not ordering ‘za. The kids love making their own pizzas and the parents are equally as pleased with the result. So easy in the bread machine. Thank you!

I made this recipe in my bread machine and used the dough to make garlic knots. I found the dough to be very wet and had to add a few tablespoons of flour to get the consistency right. The flavor was ok, the texture was good. If I use this recipe again, I would cut back on the amount of water to avoid having wet dough.

So easy and wonderful! I doubled the recipe, used King Arthur bread flour, bread machine yeast, and replaced the butter with olive oil. After the dough cycle was complete on the bread machine, I rolled out the dough into two crusts and then let it rest and covered for 10 minutes. Then, I finished rolling it out. It stretched nicely after the rest and almost completely covered a cookie sheet. I used Pam to “grease” the cookie sheets. Didn’t have cornmeal… not a problem. I did a partial bake of the crust for 8 minutes on 400F, turning the trays at 4 mins. Then, I topped the pizzas while the oven heated up to 425F. I baked them for 12 more minutes, turning the trays at 6 mins. Absolutely perfect!

Used all Ap flour. Turned out great. It was a little chewy ( which I loved) and got crunchy on the ends. So yummy

I figured it would turn outwell when the dough cycle finished in the bread machine and I had a gorgeous puffy basket of dough! Thanks as well for the cornmeal and olive oil tips. My one pan was very dark so it burnt just a tad on the bottom after eighteen minutes at 425 degrees . The crispy crust pan was perfect. hank you soooooo much!!

Wow — this is an awesome recipe for pizza crust. I’ve tried other recipes and none worked out well. This one, however, was perfect. Tasted great! I will use this one every time going forward.

This recipe comes out great! We have used it 2x now and we make our pizza on the grill. Absolutely perfect! We cook the crust without toppings for about 9 min and then add toppings and an additional 6 minutes. Absolutely amazing!

Hi I am wondering can this pizza dough be frozen? If so what’s the best way to go about it?

Sure! I like to place it in a ziploc bag with a little olive oil and then freeze. I defrost overnight in the fridge and then let it rest at room temperature until it holds its shape when stretched.

This will replace my old recipe. It was delicious and I cooked it two different ways. One half was cooked normally on a baking sheet and the other half went in a cast iron skillet. Both came out great. My husband even said how much better this was than the other I have always used. Thank you!
