Caramel Apple Shake

This refreshing Caramel Apple Shake is made with apple cider, vanilla ice cream and caramel!

Caramel Apple Shake | MomOnTimeout.com

This last weekend we went to Apple Hill. I was dying to go! I had been craving some serious apple cider for weeks and I knew where to go to get the good stuff. We stuffed our faces full of all kinds of crazy apple goodness including apple cider donuts with a new topping this year….caramel! Who woulda thunk? Oh the fudge that I ate…and don’t even remotely regret…SO good!

A new apple treat that I enjoyed at High Hill Ranch in Apple Hill was a Caramel Apple Shake. I knew IMMEDIATELY, like as soon as this concoction hit my lips, that I would be making this at home.

People.

If you try no other recipe of mine (and shame on you if you don’t!) – please, pretty please, try this one! I can’t even describe how delicious and refreshing this shake is. And don’t you even think about making it with apple juice! I’m sure it would be good – but not nearly as good as with apple cider so get the good stuff – please 🙂

There is nothing quite like the concentrated apple flavor you get in apple cider and that’s what takes this recipe totally over the top. Use some good quality caramel ice cream topping and finish it off with some whipped cream and you will have yourself one heck of a shake on your hands.

I could hardly keep Bryce out of the frame when I was trying to take the shots. We only bought one shake at High Hill Ranch and it was mostly consumed by the boys. Bryce was so excited to be enjoying one of these babies while Reece was at school.

Then he totally pulled a Trish and leaned over into the shake getting whipped cream and caramel all over his chest. Hey! Could’ve been worse – he could have been wearing clothes…

Clearly there was an easy fix for this little mishap and yes, it involves a tongue.

Just stumbled upon your blog and have been here for two hours! Love it….this shake made me feel compelled to comment. Your writing is fantastic and your pics are incredible, not to mention your adorable boys! Thank you so much.
I do have a question about the amount of ice cream. How big is a ‘scoop’? Do you mean a regular ice cream scoop size or a smaller scoop like the one I use to scoop cookie dough. Is this a one-serving shake or is it larger? Don’t want to mess it up. Looks fantastic and I know my grandkids would love it as a special treat.

This has to be the nicest comment I’ve ever received Linda – thank you! To be honest, this recipe is super flexible. Start with about a cup of ice cream and if you want it a little thicker, you can add some more. If you want a little thinner, add some more apple cider. This makes enough for two easily. Thank you so much for stopping by my site and taking the time to write such a sweet comment. Made my day! XOXO
