Pinwheels are always appreciated and they are just as easy to make as traditional treats. There’s a couple extra steps but really, SO worth it!

5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!

I started by buttering a waxed-paper lined jelly roll pan. You really want to butter it well so that the waxed paper is easy to peel away when you’re rolling up the treats.

Next butter and marshmallows are microwaved until melted and then the cereal and graham cracker crumbs are stirred in.

Now here comes the fun part. I know we’ve already got the marshmallow component of these s’mores treats covered, but I really wanted that marshmallow flavor to pop. Soooo, I shmeared on a jar of marshmallow creme. See, that’s just how I roll.

Next comes a layer of Hershey’s bars that are gently melted and then spread over the top of the marshmallow creme layer.

Whoops. You’ve got a little bit of drool dripping onto your keyboard…I don’t judge.

So finally, we roll it all up (cinnamon roll style) and throw it in the fridge to set.

Slice and serve!

How fabulous are these? Trust me, if you want to make friends fast with a kid (or adult!), just show up with a plate of these pinwheels and you are IN – promise!

I would really like to make these tomorrow for my grandchildren but don’t have any candy bars. Do you think I could substitute a cup or so of milk chocolate chips for the candy bars? Please let me know – thanks so much!

I think that would be fine Marie. Maybe chop them up a little bit so they melt down easier. Let me know how it turns out!

How do you keep these stored? Will keeping the roll in the fridge for longer than 45 minutes have any negative affects when cutting?

What is the trick for spreading the marshmallows? Or do I pour it evenly and not spread? When I tried to spread it on the loose cereal it clumped.

The cereal shouldn’t be “loose” at all Heather. You need to really smush it down in there so that it sets up firmly.

I have made these twice within the past two weeks. I slightly modified the recipe the second time which made the recipe easier to make & slightly less expensive. Here’s what I did……I used parchment paper that I sprayed with Pam. Much easier!!! I microwaved the jar of marshmallow cream for about 15 seconds….did this three times & it was easier to get out of jar & easier to spread. Lastly, I used just two 7 oz Hershey bars which I melted in a double boiler. Very easy to spread & it covered the whole thing nicely. Let the pan rest for about 20-30 min to allow the melted chocolate to cool a bit before you roll it. Easy-Peazy and just as delicious! Thank you for this great recipe! I think it would also look pretty to drizzle a little melted chocolate on the individual slices.

Okay, I didn’t feel like making the treats jellyroll style because I was being lazy, so I made layered bars with the cereal mixture on top and on the bottom. We drizzled chocolate over the top and cut the whole thing into strips….and I have no idea how they tasted because I literally set down the plate, turned my back for two minutes, and the plate was empty when I turned back. Which means your recipe is a hit, no matter what shape the final cookie/treat/whatever takes!

could I substitute peanut butter instead of using more fluff for the filling with the chocolate…. Sounds tasty but I don’t know if it would work? What do you think?

Oh, I wonder if it would work swirling some raspberry or strawberry preserves into the marshmallow creme before putting the chocolate bars on… holy cow I gotta go to the store…

i am sorry and even if its a stupid question but just want it to be perfect like yours , you combine the marshmallows with the jar marshmallow creme and butter or what is the jar marshmallow creme for ?

Hi Rima! So it’s the butter and marshmallows that get melted together and then combined with the rice krispies. The marshmallow creme gets spread on top. Does that make sense?

Trish, just want to be sure I have enough chocolate for this amazing looking idea. Is it 6 chocolate bars or three large chocolate bars as shown in the photo. So excited to make this!

I made these for a pot luck lunch at church. I had no trouble spreading the fluff but my chocolate bars didn’t soften much with 2 minutes (probably my old oven). We sampled the “ends” and loved them. Can’t wait to share them at lunch today! Thanks for sharing.

Is marshmallow creme the same as Fluff? Not sure what else it could be at the store.
    Thanks

Just tried making these treats, as I love both S’mores and Rice Krispie Treats! I’m wondering if you’ve perfected the recipe. I found that when trying to roll them, the marshmallow and chocolate got “pushed” as a rolled and ended up having a puddle of the filling at the seam, so I couldn’t pinch it closed. Perhaps I should have let it cool more than the 10 minutes specified? Also, because it was still warm, it kind of “fell”, so when I cut it, the slices resembled a teardrop more than a pinwheel. Can you help me?

Definitely let it wait a bit longer if it’s runny at all. It should just be soft at the rolling stage. Also, don’t go all the way to the edge with the marshmallow and chocolate. Chilling the cylinder before slicing will keep the nice circle shape. Hope that helps!
