Make-Ahead Honey Vanillas Parfaits | MomOnTimeout.com - Make these parfaits the night before and be ready to roll the next morning. Delicious and nutritious, they're truly the perfect way to start your day! #recipe #breakfast

We love breakfast around here. We are definitely NOT one of those families that skip breakfast 🙂  Whether it’s  Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, Breakfast Burritos or my favorite – Eggs Benedict {yummo!}  As much as I love a hot breakfast, mornings can be hectic and we can’t eat Breakfast Burritos every morning.

Another option that the boys ADORE are my Honey Vanilla Parfaits. I make them the night before and they’re ready to go the following morning. Depending on who it’s for, the granola can be added to the jar in the morning or gets put in a little baggie to be added at work. I use my very favorite yogurt, Tillamook Vanilla Bean yogurt for my parfaits. {Bryce likes the Marionberry!}

Tillamook’s Vanilla Bean yogurt is sooo good and although it’s perfect lovely on it’s own, it really makes a difference when making up these parfaits. You can actually see the specks or real vanilla in the yogurt – it’s just delicious!

Ingredients for Honey Vanilla ParfaitsFor each parfait:

  • 1 6oz Tillamook yogurt
  • 2 tsp-2 Tbls honey
  • 2-3 Tbls granola
  • 1/4 cup frozen or fresh berries
  • jar

I like to make up the parfaits in jars because it looks so pretty and feels like a real treat. I use jelly jars, artichoke jars, you name it. Wash and recycle people! {Use one of my two easy methods for removing jar labels too!}

Assembly:

Depending on the size of your jar, you will make 2-3 layers. Start by spooning 1/3 of the yogurt into a wide-mouth jar. Follow with 1 tsp-1 Tbls honey {depends on your preference for sweetness – we do 1 Tbls 😉 } Then add 1 – 2 Tbls berries.

Honey Parfaits2

Layer 1-2 more times until the jar is almost filled. You want to leave a little room to add the granola later. Close up the jars and put them in the fridge. If you are using a mason jar, place the lid on the jar, fill a small plastic bag with the granola, place the bag over the lid and then screw on the band over the plastic bag.

Honey Parfaits

Then when you’re ready to eat, add the granola and enjoy!

Make-Ahead Parfaits

Wondering what the boys think of these parfaits???

Honey Parfaits1

Yeah. They’re THAT good. The honey just sends it over the top into a whole other yummy zone.

    Did you ever find out if these freeze well or how long they would hold up in the fridge?

      I would say no to freezing but easily 2-3 days in the fridge. Enjoy!

    I’d love to do these but make a bunch for the week. Ever freeze them? I wonder how the yogurt would do frozen?

    Hi Trish,

    These look delicious! I’m going to make them tonight, though I only have Stonyfield Greek yogurt on hand, I’m sure it will work just as well. I was wondering if you thaw the frozen berries first so they aren’t too juicy, or just throw them in frozen?

    Thanks so much for sharing!

      I throw them in frozen Chris 🙂 It’s totally okay to have a little berry juice in the parfait. Stonyfield yogurt is amazing – I’m sure it will turn out great!

    I just came across your blog via Pinterest and love it! My boyfriend is in school and never seems to have time for breakfast and these would be PERFECT! You said you make them the night before…. but I was wondering how long you think these would last refrigerated? Maybe go off the yogurt expiration? We don’t live together so my thought is to make enough for a week and leave them in the fridge for him to grab and go. What do you think?

      I’m thinking you should try three to start and see how they hold up. Make sure to keep the granola separate though – that’s what can get all soggy and gross 🙂 Good luck!

    Love it. Sounds yummy too. It’s more nutritional depending on what ingredients we use. Thank you for sharing. I love the jar thing.

    We may have met by chance…but we become friends by choice.

      Any yogurt will do fine! The nutritional info will vary greatly depending upon the ingredients you use {i.e. brand and quantity of granola, brand and amount of yogurt, etc.}. Hope you enjoy the recipe!

    What a great idea! My teenagers often complain that there is ‘nothing GOOD for breakfast’ during the week, when they’re in a hurry, and this will be something both girls can agree on! The hubs and me, tipi, come to think about it.
