It’s hard not to fall in love with these bars at first glance.  You can easily see those crunchy almonds and sweet toffee bits dotting the rich, chocolate layer below.  All this sits upon a simple but delightful cookie crust.

This recipe is perfect for a crowd.  The chocolate layer is so rich and decadent that small squares are really ideal.  Feeling indulget? Cut them into the large bars that I’ve pictured.

You seriously can’t go wrong.

  3. You’re right–I do absolutely love these, Trish! It’s amazing how neatly you got them to cut, but I guess they don’t get as brittle as the toffee saltine bars I love love love making for “best recipe” events. Have you tried them? They’re the perfect combo of salty and sweet. These, though, look absolutely gorgeous and like something I’ll have to make very soon. Thanks for sharing this!
