If there’s two things that go together as well as bread and butter I’m pretty sure it would have to be bread and cheese. I mean, you’ve heard of the grilled cheese sandwich right??
This awesome recipe wraps up those two fabulous flavors into a sweet little package that’s perfect with practically any meal. The rolls are also terrific by themselves – no butter needed! That is, unless you LOVE butter and just NEED to have some on your rolls. If that’s the case, I’m totally feeling you. If you happen to have a few leftover – these rolls make killer sandwich buns – slider size of course!

This recipe is super quick to pull together and although it does require rising, there is basically about five minutes of work needed to whip up a batch. That’s just about how much time I have to invest in it as well so that works for me :)

This recipe makes twelve to fifteen nice-sized buns which works out pretty perfectly for our family. Now, if you’re making these for a big event like say Christmas or Thanksgiving – you’re gonna want to double or triple this recipe. These rolls are always a hit!

We have some sort of homemade bread 3 or 4 times a week – so I’m always looking for new recipes to try! Pinned this, Trish :)
Thanks so much for the pin Jamie!
Love these – and later this week I have a noknead cheese roll coming. The recipe doesn’t even use yeast but now that I see yours, I want to make your rolls, too. Not that we ‘need’ more rolls :)
Thanks Averie! I can’t wait to see your recipe – sounds so yummy :)

Thank you SO much Jasey! Have a wonderful weekend!
I actually have never thought of cheddar rolls as bread and cheese combined. I remember the first time I had it, I was weirded out about my biscuits having cheese in them…until i tried it and was hooked. It all makes perfect sense now, haha. These rolls look fantastic!

How long are the rising times? Just wondering how much in advance I would need to start these to have ready for supper!
I made these a few days ago. They’re gone already. So good! Excellent recipe. I’ll be making them again soon. Thanks!
These look awesome!
In step 3 you say to beat until smooth – do you use a mixer or a wooden spoon?
