Strawberry Malted Milkshake that will blow your mind! | MomOnTimeout.com

I have always been a summer girl at heart. It may or may not have to do with all of the amazing frozen treats that are totally acceptable to consume on hot summer days. I get a little giddy thinking about all that yumminess – don’t you?

Summer time means that our freezer gets stocked up with all kinds of frozen treats to keep us cool on hot summer days. We each have our favorite brands and flavors so variety is key.

Now we always have a few quarts of ice cream in the freezer and almost always one of those happens to be strawberry ice cream. Summer just isn’t summer without my dad’s strawberry milkshakes and they always come out best with strawberry ice cream.

5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!

I can still vividly remember the incredible flavor of my dad’s strawberry milkshakes. He would make them every summer and all five of us kids would be impatiently waiting for that blender to stop and my dad to take the final taste test and give the go ahead.

Those sweet, cold, delicious milkshakes will forever stand out in my mind and in my tastebuds memory banks. It took years for me to figure out that his secret ingredient was malted milk powder. That magical ingredient is what makes this recipe so incredible!

Last year my little brother took my dad’s recipe to a whole new level with the addition of strawberry ice cream topping. Now, he assures me that is just as good with strawberry jam or preserves but I haven’t tried it that way yet.

Trish, I crave Klondike bars, they were on sale a Kroger this week so I might have bought 6 packages and hid them in the back of the freezer!
