  • Delicious Flavor: Rich, creamy and decadent, the combination of Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and white chocolate are so delicious.
  • Easy to Make: Simple instructions coupled with few ingredients makes this no bake oreo balls recipe great for all ages.

How To Make Melting Snowman Oreo Balls

These Snowman Oreo Balls come together so quickly! Oreo balls with cream cheese are easy to make and even more fun to eat, they are the perfect addition to your holiday festivities. The recipe can easily be doubled or tripled as needed for larger gatherings. Here’s a quick look at how to make the snowman and, as always, you can find the fill printable recipe card at the end of this post.

  1. Place whole Oreos in a food processor or blender and pulse into fine crumbs.
  2. Add cream cheese and extract (if using) and pulse until combined OR transfer Oreo crumbs to a large bowl and mix with the cream cheese until fully combined.
  3. Scoop and roll into 1-inch balls. Place on the prepared sheet pan. Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 1 hour or freeze for 30 minutes.
  4. Use a double boiler or microwave to melt the white chocolate and oil together until smooth and creamy. (If using melting wafers or vanilla almond bark, refer to the package for melting instructions. You won’t need the oil.)
  5. Dip an Oreo ball into the melted chocolate using a dipping tool or fork, and return to the sheet pan.
  6. Quickly decorate the Oreo balls. Use assorted sprinkles to create the eyes and nose for the snowman.
  7. Place half of a mini Oreo on top of the ball. Dip the Rolo in the melted chocolate and place on top of the mini Oreo.
  8. Place Oreo balls in the refrigerator to chill for another hour to set up completely.

Planning on gifting these adorable treats? Consider packaging in festive boxes or clear cellophane bags tied with a holiday ribbon.

Storage Information

Keep the Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator in a single layer. If you need to layer, place a piece of parchment or was paper in between the layers. The Oreo cookie Balls can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks which makes them great for making in advance.

I don’t recommend freezing the decorated Oreo Balls because the color from the sprinkles can bleed if frozen and then thawed.

Variations To Try

  • There are so many yummy flavors of Oreos these days that it makes it super easy to change the flavor profile of these Oreo Balls. Just stick to the standard or classic amount of stuffing for best results.
  • Try these balls with dark or milk chocolate.
  • Add extract to the Oreo filling for more flavor. I love these with peppermint or mint extract.
  • Get creative with decorations! The snowman’s hat can be made with so many different variations of candies and cookies. Add a scarf or smile with frosting or gel. Have fun with it!

Trish’s Tips

  • Allow the balls to firm fully in the refrigerator before dipping.
  • Don’t tap off the excess chocolate as that is what gives these snowman their “melting” appearance.
  • Have the decorations ready to go so you can decorate quickly before the chocolate sets.
  • Use tweezers for precise placement of small decorations.
  • A cookie scoop will ensure that all of the oreo balls are the same size.
  • Melt the chocolate slowly and at a low heat to avoid burning the chocolate.

Do I need to use a food processor?

The food process or a blender is the best tool for crushing the Oreos into fine crumbs but you can always place the cookies in a ziploc bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

Can these Oreo balls be made ahead of time?

Absolutely! These balls can be made up to 1 week in advance for best results.

What should I use for the nose and the eyes?

Any small candy or sprinkles will work. You can always buy sprinkles that are specific like this snowman cookie ball set. Specifically look for something round and black for the eyes and/or mouth and something orange for the nose.
