Black Widow Spider Bites | MomOnTimeout.com #Halloween #recipe

Sunday we had an amazing Avengers party in celebration of the release of The Avengers. I served up a variety of Avengers-themed food items and I’ll be sharing a few of them with you this week. First up are Black Widow Spider Bites. These are perfect for Halloween parties or Avengers parties!

Black Widow Spider Bites | MomOnTimeout.com #Halloween #recipe

Ingredients:
Oreo Cookies
Black String Licorice or Black Tube Licorice
Red Sparkle Gel

Directions:

When I went to the store to pick up string licorice I was told that it had been recalled and had been removed from the shelves. Darn! So I found some black tube licorice and cut it up into strips for the legs. It took a few extra minutes but I can hardly complain since these take all of five minutes to put together 🙂

You can either push the licorice into the creme filling of the Oreo cookie or just pop the top off and press the legs into the creme filling.

Make sure you get all 8 legs in there good!

Put the top of the cookie back again and squeeze lightly.

Now to make these black widow cookies I squeezed a small amount of red sparkle gel on to the top of each spider. Bam! Black widows!

Too cute and yummy too!

My weekly linky party–One Creative Weekend–has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit “One Creative Weekend” on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.)

The fact you put the little red dot on there, so they weren’t just ordinary spiders, but actually black widows, qualifies this as one of the cutest little nibbles ever!

Those are way too cute! Almost too cute to eat… almost! The red sparkle gel is genius. I’m crossing my fingers you’ll share these little spiders at my Throwback Thursday party 🙂 I hope to see you there and thank you so much for sharing! http://www.hubbymademe.com/throwback-thursday-no-12/

These are so cute (or creepy, rather)! I’m totally pinning these, because I THINK I can make these without messing them up. Eating an entire row of Oreos while I’m doing it is another story!! Thanks for sharing!
