Ingredients
3cupsall purpose flour
1/3cupgranulated sugarcan be reduced to as little as 2 tablespoons
1tablespoonbaking powder
1teaspoonsalt
12ouncesbeer1 bottle
8tablespoonsbutterdivided
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set aside.
Melt two tablespoons of butter and set aside to cool. Slice remaining butter into 6 to 8 pieces and set aside.
Whisk together all purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
Add beer and stir just until almost combined. Add melted butter and stir to combine.
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and top with slices of butter.
Bake for 50 to 65 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Brush with additional melted butter if desired.
Let cool in loaf pan for 15 minutes before removing to a cooling rack. Serve with butter and honey if desired. Or better yet, top with my honey butter!
