Cranberry Christmas Cocktail

Ingredients

Sugar Rim (optional)

  • 1 orange wedge
  • 2 tablespoons sugar for rimming glasses

Single Serving Cocktail

  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce amaretto liqueur
  • 1 ounce vodka optional
  • 1 ounce orange juice

For Serving

  • ice

Garnish (Optional)

  • fresh cranberries for garnish
  • orange slices or wedges
  • cinnamon sticks
  • rosemary sprigs
  • mint sprigs

For Punch Bowl (2 to 2.5 Gallon) without Vodka

  • 10 cups cranberry juice
  • 5 cups amaretto liqueur
  • 5 cups orange juice

For Punch Bowl (2 to 2.5 Gallon) with Vodka

  • 8 cups cranberry juice
  • 4 cups amaretto liqueur
  • 4 cups orange juice
  • 4 cups vodka

Instructions

For Single Cocktail

    Rim Glass

    • This is totally optional. Rub an orange wedge along the edge of your glass. Dip the glass into a shallow bowl or plate with sugar. Set aside.
      1 orange wedge, 2 tablespoons sugar
    • Add cranberry juice, amaretto (and vodka if using), and orange juice into a cocktail shaker. Shake well.
      2 ounces cranberry juice, 1 ounce amaretto liqueur, 1 ounce orange juice, 1 ounce vodka
    • Pour over ice into glass.
      ice
    • Garnish with cranberries and orange slices if desired. Enjoy!

    For Punch Bowl

    • In a large pitcher or punch bowl, combine the cranberry juice, amaretto, orange juice and vodka, if using. Mix well.
    • Garnish with optional garnishes including orange slices and fresh cranberries. Serve over ice or with ice in the bowl.

    Notes

    To make ahead of time, combined the cranberry juice, amaretto and orange juice and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.
    When ready to serve, add vodka if using and serve over ice or transfer to a pitcher or punch bowl when ready to serve.
