Because not everyone likes olives…. These fun Penguin Fruit Snacks are guaranteed to get a smile from your little one! Made with grapes, cream cheese and carrots!
If you have kids you know one thing – they can be picky. For absolutely no reason at all, my boys have refused certain foods at different time in their lives. It’s frustrating to say the least. One way that I have encouraged them to try new foods – or, to at least EAT, is by making food fun. Witch Fingers, Wafflesaurus, Peanut Butter Apple Cinnamon Sushi Rolls – all these easy recipes are designed with one goal in mind – to get my boys to eat!
Jill Mills, creator of the wildly famous blog, Kitchen Fun with My Three Sons, has created an amazing book filled with 40 animal-inspired meals and snacks for kids: Wild Eats and Adorable Treats. Brilliant!
Inside you’ll find all sorts of creative recipes that no kid can resist! I let me boys look through her book and they landed on these adorable Penguin Fruit Snacks – made with grapes! I used her basic recipe with my own touches for this fun finished product.
Can you say adorable? Jill used mandarins for her nose and feet but I had some carrots that were just begging to be used. I cut a little slit in the top grape and inserted a triangle-shaped piece of carrot right in the slit.
Make sure you keep your grapes dry when piping on the cream cheese!
Today I teamed up with Jill and some awesome sponsors to bring you a fun giveaway! Jill is giving away some of the items she used to create the snacks in her book.

I have many fun memories – making names, hearts and teddy bears out of pancake batter, making silly face open sandwiches using fresh fruits and veggies (and were always eaten!), and making fun cupcakes and pretzel snacks. 🙂 I love this penguin idea!!!

We used to make little people out of peel-and-eat twizzlers and icing. This looks much healthier!

I love when we have extra time on the weekends to take our time cooking/baking with my stepdaughter. I still remove learning the basics and its stuff that stays with you for life.
