Last week I shared our NFL Kickoff Party with all of you. If you looked at the table I’m sure you noticed the Football & Field Cans that were holding straws, cutlery, and treats. They were a cinch to make and really added an air of festivity to the table. Of course the Football Field cake helped too! Now I do realize that NFL footballs do not have the white stripes on the balls anymore so you could leave those off if you want to. If you care more about the contrasting colors like I do – leave them on! Or you could tell guests you were making a NCAA football 🙂
What you’ll need:
Brown, white and green construction paper
empty, clean cans {your choice of size}
glue, hot glue, or tape {all will work}
Directions for Football Party Can:
Measure the height and circumference of your can. Cut out a piece {or pieces} of brown consturction paper to fit around the can. Glue or tape the paper to the can. Next cut thick strips of white to go around the top and bottom of the can leaving a little room above and below. To make the laces, cut small white pieces to create the look. There are actually 8 laces on a football although I only had room for seven 🙂
Directions for Field Party Cans:
Measure the height and circumference of your can. Cut strips of green construction paper to fit around the can. Glue or tape the paper to the can. Cut strips of white paper {however many you can fit on} in equal widths and glue onto the can. You could even add yard line numbers!
This is a really quick and inexpensive way to add a little flair to your next foot ball party!
