Last month I shared how excited I was to begin my Mom Cave makeover. I shared with you my living room space that was filled with over-sized furniture and was just too dark. I really wanted to get a “fun” piece – something that would make me smile each time I walked in the room. This is what it looked like:

I am so excited to share with you all how it’s coming along! First things first – my Laurel Chair & A Half from La-Z-Boy came in and I am officially in L.O.V.E.! I didn’t know which of the three fabrics I was going to receive and I was so excited/nervous to see what it was. Of course the delivery guys had it all wrapped up and so I couldn’t even see it on the truck. I had to wait until they brought it in and removed the cover and then I saw it….I think I may have squealed :) It was absolutely stunning and total perfection! It is so comfortable and although this is officially for my Mom Cave – the boys seem to think this is their new spot to cuddle up with mommy {and I really don’t mind :)}.

Okay, so the biggest difference in my Mom Cave now {with the exception of my new Laurel chair and a half} is my fabulous new crown molding! We have been talking about doing this room for YEARS and my sweet hubby finally said “Let’s just do it!”. We didn’t want to go too fancy and we wanted the crown molding to tie in nicely with the window casing that my dad put in last year. It turned out perfect! It is exactly what the room needed. I just love that pop of white – especially against the teal wall!

One of the reasons I was so excited with the chair is that it goes perfectly with the wrapping paper that I selected to line my bookcase with. I actually bought the wrapping paper the week before and was waiting to do the bookcase, keeping my fingers crossed that it was going to be the fabric I wanted. Pictures do not do justice to the change in this bookcase. We totally cleared it out, got rid of a lot of books, and then lined the back of the bookcase. I just love it! It’s now my second fun piece in the room :)

I have been finding a lot of inspiration for my new space that I want to share with you. I’m still picking out accessories and have been keeping note of designs that speak to me. I’m totally drawn to the light, bright and airy rooms. I love the ottoman with the fun fabric below - that’s definitely the fun piece!

I think if there is one thing that can be added to a room to add light and space it has to be a mirror. Whether it’s one large mirror or multiple mirrors – the reflective surfaces helps light bounce around the room making it appear brighter and larger. This is exactly what I need in my cozy space.

Now I’m going to give you a sneak peek at one of the other projects I’m working on…I’ll give you another hint too – doesn’t this wall look awfully barren?

I can’t wait for my Laurel Sectional to get in so I can do the final reveal for my Mom Cave – it’s going to be fabulous! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked at my La-Z-Boy Furniture Pinterest Board imagining my new Mom Cave. I am so happy with my selections from La-Z-Boy and there was so much to choose from! Sectionals, sofas, recliners, chairs, loveseats – you name it! And just in case you forgot the “wall of fabric” from my first post, here’s a quick reminder:

It looks so cozy. That’s what I like. I like the chair and a mom cave got to include cuddling with their children or grandchildren.
We may have met by chance…but we become friends by choice.

Ha ha! I love the term “mom cave.” Haven’t heard that one before! And the fabric on your new chair is fabulous; it’s amazing how one chair in a fun print can really transform a space; and I have to say the same about the crown molding. Fantastic!
