5 Steps to a Happier, Healthier Mouth

This post brought to you by SCOPE. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know that the health of our mouth is directly related to the health of our bodies? I take the boys into the dentist twice a year.  They get their teeth cleaned and I love how the dentist can make them excited to take care of their teeth and gums.  We have an awesome pediatric dentist and it's quite an experience going into the office – there are games, movies, prizes – it's something the boys actually look forward to and I think that's pretty incredible!

There are just a few steps that we can take each day that can enusure healthier teeth and gums and fresher breath – things that we all want!

Get regular dental checkups.  If you haven't seen your dentist in the past 12 months – call now to set up an appointment.  Not only do you get a cleaning that makes your mouth feel wonderful, but it's good to find out what you can be doing better in your oral healthcare routine.

Brush at least twice daily. This seems like a no-brainer but it's really easy to skip brushing in the morning when you're rushing to get the kids out the door .  Make brushing teeth a priority in your household and make sure that your children are using age-appropriate toothpaste.

Flossing.  Probably the most difficult task but well worth your time.  Flossing has been made even easier with floss picks so those of us who never quite mastered the traditional floss can keep up with our flossing.

Use mouthwash.  An incredibly effective way to fight bad breath germs and leave your mouth feeling fresh and clean all day.  I've been using Scope Outlast and I am impressed daily with how long my breath stays fresh. SCOPE is available at Walmart and comes in three varieties: Outlast, Dual-Blast, and Classic.  I love the mint flavor of Outlast and it's awesome knowing that in a quick 30 seconds – I'm ensuring myself fresh breath for the rest of the day.  In fact, Outlast gives you a fresh feeling that lasts up to FIVE times longer than brushing alone –  Fresh breath & courage, 1 oz at a time!  I would definitely recommend trying SCOPE and working it into your oral care routine – SCOPE makes it so easy to kill 99% of bad breath germs.

Get into a routine.  Establishing an oral care routine will help ensure that you take all the steps daily to keep your mouth healthy and happy!
