My Weekend View: Two Accidents & Pictures

So our weekend started off with a bang on Friday.  I always have to wake Bryce up from his nap to go pick up Reece from kindergarten.  I usually put him in the double stroller for the walk so he can just lay back and wake up slowly on the way.  We picked up Reece and he was all excited because they were going to be showing Cars 2 at his school that evening and we had made plans to go. Unfortunately he had two major accidents that prevented it.  This is what happened...

First Incident:
We got home and Reece wanted to push the stroller up the driveway.  He usually does this and I didn't think twice about letting him.  I went to punch in the code to open the garage and heard a yelp.  Turned around and saw Reece flat on the ground with the double stroller and Bryce on top of him.  Not good.  He had a HUGE bump on the back of his head from the concrete and a stroller imprint, a scrape, and another bump on his forehead.  It took awhile for me to get him to calm down from that and he looked awful!

Second Incident:
The movie was starting at 6 PM so the plan was to leave by 5:45.   Around 4:30 PM I was in the kitchen working on dinner and I hear a loud CRASH.  Silence.  "Reece!"  "Bryce!"  Nothing.  I walk back to Reece's room and find the shelf that is above his desk now on his desk and a hole in the wall from one of the anchors.  Umm...what happened?  Turns out my two little boys thought it would be a good idea to climb up onto the shelf.  What for?  No answer.  Well, when I was putting up the shelf I did not use anchors that supported the weight of two little boys so this one may be my fault...  Anyways, Bryce came out of this unscathed.  (Reports show that he landed on Reece.)  Reece on the other added two more scratches to his face.

I let them calm down in their rooms and went back to check on Reece ten minutes later.  He was sound asleep in his bed from all the drama and trauma that had occurred that afternoon.  He slept past 6 PM and we missed the movie.  Not that I would have taken him anyways.  He looked like he had been through a small war!  I told him we would watch Cars 2 at home together sometime soon and offered up a play date with a friend in the form of a peace treaty and he accepted :)

Fortunately, kids heal quickly and he is mostly recovered.  I took some Valentine's Day pictures on Saturday but the kids weren't really into it (when are they ever??) so I didn't get the best shots but oh well!

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun?  I'm assuming most of you watched the game on Sunday.  We didn't host like we normally do so it was nice and not stressful at all - loved it!  Well get ready for some fun giveaways this week!
p.s. I totally forgot to mention that Reece lost his second tooth on Sunday!

  1. I love it! My boys do these things that I just don't quite understand sometimes and things usually end up with me unhappy or laughing. I'm glad your kiddos are ok and no one is too injured out of this. We had a nice relaxing weekend and watched the game just the four of us. But, I did make lots of junk to eat while we watched. It was the best. :)
