Well our long weekend started off great with the whole family going to a birthday party for one of Reece’s school friends on Saturday. There was a bounce house and so the boys jumped the day away :)
Sunday we went to Disney On Ice: Toy Story 3 and had the BEST time! I had taken Reece to a different Disney On Ice two years ago and we had a great time so I knew that this was one show we didn’t want to miss.
The show was just about two hours long including intermission and the boys did really well. Reece was completely mesmerized by the entire show and Bryce was dancing away to the music. Bryce started losing it in the last half hour and kept wanting to lay down on one of us because he was missing his nap. It really wasn’t a big deal though.
We went to Sizzler’s for dinner after the show and that’s were things started going downhill. Reece refused to eat dinner which is strange for him. He usually chows down on the fresh pineapple and cantaloupe and enjoys at least one serving of nachos. Nothing sounded good to him and kept laying his head on my lap during dinner. For some reason, at the time, I just thought he was tired and didn’t entertain the idea of him being sick AGAIN.
Monday morning he woke up with a 103 degree temperature. Not good. He’s home sick today. Again. I feel so bad for Reece! I really don’t like him missing school so much but I know that he would be miserable at school and would likely get other kids sick so there’s just not another option.
So we are hanging out today and watching some movies and shows and just taking it easy. His fever dropped to 101 this morning so I think he’s improving and we’ll just have to see how he does for the remainder of the day. He’s eating blueberries and graham crackers right now which is a good sign since yesterday he had ZERO appetite and just wanted a couple sips of water all day. We managed to get him to eat a little chicken noodle soup but he just wasn’t interested. My poor baby!
Bryce just wants to lay down beside him and Reece isn’t in the mood :( Oh well, things will get back to normal soon enough! Hope your weekend was as much fun as ours – minus the sick part :)
