Hey there everyone! Hope you had a weekend that was both relaxing and fun :) We were lying around the house on Saturday morning when it dawned on me that we had a Living Social deal for the Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary that we had purchased back in July that was just waiting to be used. We loaded the kids in the car and took off!
We had never been to this zoo before and it is really something special. They layout is such that you can get really close the animals - it's almost like a park for animals. Bryce was super excited to see chickens right off the bat and then as we walked in further he spotted what he called "special chickens". You can see them below:
I can't remember laughing so hard! I was chuckling every few minutes for the following couple hours just thinking about Bryce's special chickens. Oh my, that kid cracks me up!
I realized that I had never been so close to peacocks before and certainly not in the number here at the Folsom Zoo. There had to have been at least a dozen and they were all over the place. It was really amazing to see their brilliant colors up close.
If you were wondering what color "peacock blue" is - take a look:
Isn't he gorgeous?????
We saw so many amazing animals like wolves, foxes, coyotes, monkeys, deer, a Boa Constrictor, raccoon, squirrels and more! One of the boys' favorites was this adorable bear. Yes. I said ADORABLE bear. Look how cute he is! (There were five bears here at the zoo but the others were sleeping in their caves.)
After the zoo, we went on a train ride (also included with our Living Social deal). It was a lot of fun for the boys and the engineer was a retired photography teacher and was giving tips to anyone with a camera. It was great!
There is a great park right next to the zoo and so we let the boys run off any remaining energy here before heading out.
We swung by Sports Authority on the way home and picked up Reece's gear for T-ball. This will be his first year playing and he is SO excited! We hit the park already today so he could get used to his glove and bat. He looks so darn cute! I am sure you will be seeing many pictures of Reece's games in the coming months ;)

I love the Folsom Zoo. I like it better than the Sac Zoo. Such a fun, easy thing to do. Reminds me I want to go back!
ReplyDeleteI was really surprised with how much fun we had there! My husband said it was awesome to be able to see all the animals. We often times go to the Sacramento Zoo and don't really see much. The train ride was the icing on the cake for the boys :) And of course that fantastic park!
Deletekid are so darn cute! hahaha. special chickens cracked me up too!XD
